Pregnant Women

 Antenatal Clinic

 Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV

Mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) of HIV is reasonable for more than 90% of childhood HIV infections worldwide. Because of the large number of women of reproductive age living with HIV/AIDS, decreasing the transmission of HIV from mother-to-child continues to be a challenge. The number of infections in children will likely increase if urgent measures to prevent transmission are not put in place. MTCT can take place during pregnancy, labor and delivery and breastfeeding. Mothers and pregnant women need to know that there is a vital comprehensive care and treatment serviced must be extended as a matter of urgency.
